Guide to Choose the Perfect Golf Resort

1. You need to establish whether it’s certain courses you want to play, or a location that you want to visit. Perhaps you’ll choose one of the world famous courses, or a part of the country that you’ve always wanted to visit, or a combination of the two.

2. You’ll want to make sure that there are other facilities than just golf, so that there’s somewhere to relax after your round of golf. Why not take the opportunity to explore a city or the countryside, or see if you could also visit friends and relatives whilst you’re here?

3. You might want to choose a region with lots of courses nearby, or perhaps you’ll prefer to spend your time trying to master the one course. You might want to book different hotels, so that play as many different courses in the region as your time will allow.

4. You might want to choose your destination because the course was designed by a particular golfer, or well known golf course designer. How will you fare against the professionals?

5. A luxury hotel and spa will make your time off the fairway more enjoyable, and you’ll really appreciate the fine food, and well appointed rooms of a quality restaurant. You’ll get a good nights sleep, and be raring to go, no matter what time you’re teeing off in the morning.

6. A lesson or two with the on site golf professional will be the perfect way to help you improve your game. Whether your swing or putting needs tweaking, you’re bound to see improvements to your game. Maybe you’ll be taking lessons for the first time, and so want the experience of an experienced professional, and a challenging golf resort.

7. As well as fantastic golf, you might also need to consider activities for the non golfers in your party. They might want to be able to explore the region for themselves, or spend all day in the spa, or having beauty treatments, going for walks, or maybe even taking in the surroundings.

8. Perhaps you’ll be looking for a golf resort for a corporate golf day for your company. You’ll want to choose somewhere relatively local, and that will cater to all your golfing, and non golfing needs. Who knows, you might even be able to convert some of your colleagues into golfers.

9. Some golf resorts will have special offers during the year. You might want to take advantage of these, and choose to take your holiday out of the main holiday season, or go at short notice. Perhaps the fact that you’re playing golf, and not at work is more important than which golf resort you choose.

10. Whichever golf resort you choose, you’ll want value for money, which isn’t the same as booking the cheapest golf resort. You might not get the chance to do this again, and so you’ll want to make the most of it, and money shouldn’t be the deciding factor.
